Square Eyes...

The damn Fall TV schedule is going to be the end of me.

For the first time in a long time I am actually enjoying some of the new programs out there... and that, combined with the programs I normally watch makes for a very busy Carmen.

Thank god for time shifting cable.

Here is run-down on the new shows I am watching this year - I don't know if they will all stick around, but for now, they have a spot in the PVR.

Glee (Fox) - I really liked the pilot. Since then I have been lacking enthusiasm over the episodes. It is slowly becoming a giant bad karaoke revival for me...

Vampire Diaries (The CW) - yeah, the writing is baaad, and the show is basically hacking Twilight, but there are hot vampires. Sometimes you just need to watch a show for the eye candy. And support Canadian actresses. Even if she does say "Dear Diary" far too often.
Accidentally on Purpose (CBS) - it has Dharma in it. So it will keep my attention for awhile. The guys could be cuter though. Finally - something other that stupid effing football on a Monday night.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) - Chris O'Donnell. Enough said.

Mercy (NBC) - I wasn't too sure about this one - I kind of thought it would just be a ER knock-off. But throw in a bit of an illicit love affair and you have me watching.

Cougar Town (ABC) - Courtenay Cox Arquette as a cougar... which means that we are bound to see lots of hot guys. I will put up with Courtenay for that. I think. Maybe. Far awhile anyways.

We won't even go into all the other shows I watch... but I must tell you, the hope of Grissom coming back to CSI makes me happy. Cause Laurence Fishburne kind of sucks rat balls.

If you wear/own/like Ed Hardy I will probably judge you.I really just don't get why people would want to dress like Jon Gosselin.

I needed to cry.

And while I have only watched about five minutes of the Emmy's... I happened to turn it on while you were singing "I Will Remember You".

And now I am sitting here bawling my face off.

I don't know why.

Fuck that... I do know why.

I am tired of it. I am tired of being a pawn. I am tired of being the girl that has plans made with a guy TWO DAYS in a row and then doesn't hear from him after the plans are made.

I am tired of being the girl that knows she is awesome, but yet can't seem to catch a break in the man department.

I am tired of thinking that I should put my life on hold for a guy.

It hurts. It really fucking hurts to think that I am going to be alone forever.

I don't want to be the pathetic girl anymore.

I am tired of it but I don't know how to make the feelings stop.

I don't want to sit here crying on a Sunday night anymore.

I am worth so much more than this.

Hottie of the Week...

I am addicted to vampires.

I friggin' hate it. I am not the kind of girl that reads Twilight, watched True Blood, buys all the Sookie Stackhouse books, and now has started watching the Vampire Diaries...

But seriously...

When the view you get on the TV is as good as this it is hard to be ashamed of my vampire addiction.

Meet Alexander SkarsgÄrd, my favorite vampire on True Blood...
You can find the rest of the pictures here... thanks to whoever posted this on Twitter, I will love you forever.

Randomness...

>> Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Well, I have decided (provided my doctor says it is okay) to go back to work tomorrow. Between being bored out of my effing skull, and the fact that this is the busiest time of year at work, I feel the need to go back. I don't know if I will put in full days, but no matter what I have tonnes of sick time if I need to leave early - not to mention a zillion holiday hours still for this year...

My time off has coincided with the US Open... while I don't play tennis, any living, breathing woman should really take the opportunity to appreciate Rafael Nadal in HD... it is a true work of art.I think I am suffering from some sort of body dismorphia. While I know my boobs are smaller... a part of me looks down and still sees huge boobs. I don't get it, and I can't really explain it. That said, I finally took off the steri-strips (my post-op instructions told me so) and so far so good. I must give kudos to my surgeon as I can already tell my scars will be minimal.

I don't get boys.

How is that for randomness??

Happy Labour* Day!

>> Monday, September 07, 2009

I saw a post pop up in my Google Reader by Jessica over at Classy in Philadelphia... an homage to Labour Day of sorts... although she spelled it Labor Day... but she is in Philiadelphia after all and the Americans don't seem to have the same love for the letter "u" like us Canadians do...

So... without further ado... my labour history (and I am talking employment here since I have never been in the birthing kind of labour - but if you want stories on that I suggest checking out Dooce)...

Babysitting - I didn't babysit much - maybe because we moved... maybe because I don't really like kids... or maybe because one of my first experiences was with a family in my apartment building - they had a little guy who was usually asleep when I got there... but did that mean that the dad had to pay me TO THE PENNY? Seriously, when they got home, the dad would haul out the calculator and figure out my hourly rate TO THE PENNY. I mean - I probably only charged $2.50 an hour or something... but he would literally send me home with like $6.43. Cheapie, cheapie!

Page - this is a fancy name for the kid that returns all the library books to the shelves. Sometimes in order, sometimes not. Yes - it was all my fault if you couldn't find what you were looking for but it was a freaking boring job!

Cashier/Clothes sorter - I worked for a couple of years at a thrift store... I got the goods before they went on the floor... until they instituted the 24-hour rule. Then I hid the stuff so nobody would find it so I could buy it. Sue me.

Sandwich artists - this is by far was my most hated job. Have you ever come home smelling like Subway? Well, I have and it ain't pretty.

Administrative Assistant - spent two summers reading books and re-organizing files. But at least it wasn't Subway.

Student Employment Officer - this was my one crack at being a government lackey. I think I did a good job. At being a lackey that is. And getting my picture in the paper.

Fitness Centre Assistant - I washed towels and squash goggles. And did homework.

Orientation Coordinator - this is where I found out that I am too organized. Am I the only person in the world that doesn't stress over planning an event for over 400 people?

Holy crap... I have had a lot of jobs... granted... I am like 100 years old... but still... I have never been fired either... and only quit with no notice once... and have taken a buy-out once. Pay me to leave? Hells ya!

And then I graduated University... and since then I have only ever worked in post-secondary. I guess I liked University so much that I wanted to keep going back EVERY SINGLE DAY...

Receptionist/Financial Aid Assistant - dealt with people complaining about money incessantly.

Recruitment Officer - travelled on the University's dime to various malls schools around Canada convincing the youth of tomorrow to come to my institution.

Academic Advisor - see below.

Financial Aid Advisor - same shit as before, different province.

Academic Advisor - one who shoots down helicopter parents, makes students cry (only periodically), shit disturber (but good shit... most of the time) general all-around God to the students...

Phew... done! I hope everyone is enjoying a paid day off today!!

*And yes... there is a "u" in labour damnit!

My boobs have grown...

In a week my bustline is ONE inch bigger than it was last week.

This better be as a result of swelling.

I am now pissed off.

Stupid boobs.

A Letter to my Body...

>> Wednesday, September 02, 2009

Dear Body,

First off, thanks for faking me out a bit.

I thought I was on the road to being healed...

But then came the bruises.

These are ugly bruises... so deep that they are only coming to the surface a week later.

And they hurt like a bitch.

I know the doctor said to take it easy and those who did healed faster than those that didn't.

I am so sorry Mr. Doctor for not listening.

Looks like I will be spending the next few days with ice on my boobs.

Fun.

Love,
The girl with the technicolor boobs

My Poor, Poor Credit Card...

>> Tuesday, September 01, 2009

So... the bonus of new boobs (or old boobs revisited) is that you get to buy new clothes.

The downside is that because I appreciate my squeaky clean criminal record, I must pay for the new clothes.

Grrr...

I dropped my mom off at the airport this morning (she was awesome... she came and took care of me and made me dinner and wouldn't let me buy anything for a week) and decided that since I was so close to the new mall I boycotted only last week on Twitter, that I had best make an appearance.

You see... while my old clothes aren't too big (hey - they just took away some boob, not my shoulders or ribs!)... I can fit into stuff that I wouldn't have been able to before.

So today I bought two sweaters, three shirts, a new pair of jeans, a new pair of shoes and a new watch. Oh... and a wallet.

Yeah - I know that I can't wear jeans, shoes, a watch or a wallet on my boobs... so sue me...

Just for shits and giggles I tried on a bra... I know not to buy one yet because I am still swollen and covered in tape... but I just couldn't pass La Senza without popping my head in.

And I fit into a 38D.

A La Senza 38D.

Seriously.

I shit you not.

And then I did a happy dance in the change room.

Seriously.

And my boob didn't hit me in the face.
