Ms. Fix-it calls Mr. Plumber...
Okay - no work will get done today - I now know that even my shower is hooked up to this debockle of a plumbing issue as after I got clean this morning, I then needed to clean up another flood in the basement. This is not making me want to use the bathroom - since I will have you-know-what all over the place. Oh joy. So - a call is in to the plumber - who's slogan in the phone book is "We're #1 in the #2 business" - you can't go wrong with that can you? I just hope that this isn't going to cost an arm and a leg - since I have no first born to give up...
ETA - it is a good thing that I get a paid flood day thanks to my union agreement - three companies called, one called back and they can't come until tomorrow. Looks like I am heading out somewhere so I can go to the can later (like you all wanted to know that)...

Oh the joy of plumbing. Andy has redone the wax ring in the basement toilet and completely replaced the upstairs toilet. The basement toilet had an invisible leak. A small trail of water was seeping out the side of the bottom and into the wall - when Andy took the wallpaper down he found a nice big rotten 2x4 and gyproc... blah! This house is full of those kinds of surprises though. We can't seem to start a project without finding something terrible.
