University Math...

Okay, here goes...

You take seven employees, lay one off, add the duties of three other people from completely different offices to the six remaining - and then you don't think that they will be overworked... and that they will have more time to see students. I don't know about them, but I am only paid for a 7 hour work day (6 1/2 hours if you take away my two 15-minute coffee breaks)... not a minute more... oh and not to mention everyone needs time to be trained in their new duties... and we don't have time... because we are supposed to keep seeing students... because... that of course is our #1 priority...

How's that for some university math...

  1. There is similar math where I come from - "let's do less and do better work - oh and can you also complete the 40 tasks off the side of your desk..." Let's make tomorrow 'one finger salute' day. :)

If ever I have a negative thought about employment I think of your quote from Drew Carey - he said it pretty well. I just don't have a bar to go to meet with everyone.

Hope tomorrow brings better a day and if it doesn't remember it is one finger salute day and spread the message.
