To Tattoo or Not To Tattoo... That is the Question...
Okay, I am thinking of getting a tattoo... not a big one... and not one that I will be ashamed to have in my 80's (this is a direct reference to Adam's Tasmanian Devil on his shoulder that he got when he was 19... I still think that by the time Adam is 80 the Tasmanian Devil will be perched precariously close to his ass...).
I am thinking of getting this...
It is the Kanji symbol that means determination... and I honestly wouldn't want it much bigger than that (okay I am not a dummy - I realize it has to be bigger than that to get good detail... but I am going to try and get it as close to that size as I can). I am thinking of getting it on my right ankle behind the ankle bone... not too obtrusive... and hopefully if I ever have the misfortune of gaining weight my ankles are a pretty safe place that I won't get stretch marks...
Why may you ask am I contemplating a tattoo? Well, honestly, it is something that I have been thinking about for quite awhile. I am not the type that will tattoo a name on me or anything like that (maybe if I were to ever have kids that would be different... unless I thought that they were crazy psychopath-type children - I mean... if I ever thought that they could become a serial murder or anything like that.... I wouldn't want their name tattooed on me or anything like that... but I digress...) and I have spent lots of time pouring over Kanji websites looking for something. Why Kanji you ask? Because to me it adds a little artistic flair to something that has meaning. What I really want out of a tattoo is something that will show that I have gone through change in my life and I have persevered. Other characters that I would consider are:
The first one is strong-willed, the second one power, the third one overcome-surmount and the last one is freedom-independence. I think the last one is too detailed and would have to be too big... the power one is a little boring... I think I like my first choice...
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Ouch!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first one up top has a nice balance of detail and size, the power one I think could be very strong. The others might be too much detail, though. So would depend on how big you end up wanting them.
ReplyDeleteI lurve tattoos.
