Two Months and Counting!
I am leaving on my UK2010 trip (yes, that is what I will be hastagging it on Twitter while I'm gone) (did you know that hashtagging isn't a word? Come on Webster's people, if double-double is in the dictionary, please starting adding Twitterspeak as well) in less than two months now.
And I'm finally starting to get excited again. I mean - I booked this trip in April, and did a crapload of planning in like the first three days, and then... well then, I just had to wait. And I'm not so good at waiting I've decided.
As I will be backpacking and hosteling (and also flying RyanAir), I need to keep my packing to a minimum. I will want to leave room forwhiskey souvenirs but I also don't want to have to wash my underwear in a sink every night. I like what Bounce sheets do to my underwear... I don't need stiff air-dried underwear every day, thankyouverymuch.
So, of course, I've turned to the interwebs for advise... there are a couple of cool sites I've found, so I thought I'd share...

If you were travelling for two weeks out of a backpack, what would you bring?

So damn excited for you! 2 months! I can't wait to hear all about your travels :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're a fan of Art of Backpacking! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have so much fun! I think I'm almost jealous even:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't travelled like you but living out of my car or backpack so much this year I can give you one tip: buy wool. My most used travel clothes are my 2 wool t's, my long sleeved wool shirt (to cut the chill of the ocean air), wool undies (MEC ones are cheapest), and wool socks. On the shirt front I so appreciate that wool doesn't get stinky or clingly and are available in much nicer styles than the old microfibre junk. And since you're worried about crunchy underwear, you definitely don't want cotton. I dislike doing laundry though so I tend to pack enough to get me through a week.
Have fun!
