187 Days and Counting...

by - Sunday, May 22, 2011

Well, since we survived Rapture (I am not sure whether it is supposed to be capitalized or not... since I'm a heathen and thought the world was ending with the Mayan calendar, and only found out about Rapture on Tuesday of last week - which isn't a long time to plan my imminent demise by the way)... it has been decided that the manfriend and I will cruise the Western Caribbean.

We leave for Miami in 187 days.  Not that I'm counting or anything (I'm totally counting by the way).

Seven days on a boat, with stops (I think that they are called ports?) in George Town (Grand Cayman Island), Roatan (Honduras), Belize City (Belize) and Cozumel (Mexico).

As many of you may know, following my many trips (Europe 2008, Calgary-to-Calgary 2009, UK 2010 and a few Las Vegas adventures along the way), I am a planner.

I may already have my excursions planned for a couple of the ports, and have them narrowed down for a couple more.

I may also be compiling a list of things to take, I may have encouraged the manfriend to buy more shorts (his reply - "We are going in November!"... my retort - "But who sells shorts in Canada in November? And they're on sale now! And... you may as well buy some sandals too!  And some collared shirts!...") and I have contemplated actually buying a couple of summer dresses (I know... Carmen... summer dresses?).

In the past I've promised vacation blogs, and never actually done them.  This time, knowing that it would cost me $100 for 250 minutes of internet, I know that I won't do anything, so you are saved from empty promises.

But, you will all have to listen to me countdown until I leave!

  1. So the countdown begins. I think you are right about buying stuff now, you are going to have a hard time finding summer stuff in Canada in the winter time.

Let me know what you think of the cruise! I'm wondering about doing one as a family trip, and I'd love your take on it all.

  3. The rapture actually came a day early, and only Randy 'Macho Man' Savage was taken up to heaven.
