My thoughts on TVs season premieres, Part 2

by - Thursday, October 18, 2012

The premiere weeks were spread out, which gave me a little time to clear out the PVR. Seriously though, it's kind of a good thing I'm single, because I plan on spending the entire winter watching TV from the comforts of my couch wrapped in my brand new ($3) Snuggie (please don't judge me).

Here's a break-down of my latest round of shows...

Vampire Diaries... Elena is now a vampire, and she chose Stefan. Which sucks, because I think there'd be much hotter vampire sex with Damon.

Chicago Fire... so far so good. Shirtless firefighters is almost always a good thing, and the storyline was half decent.

Amazing Race 21... this is by far my favorite reality show, and I want to be on it.

Nashville... the mix of storylines kind of messed me up, but I think by the end of the episode I had everyone sorted out. It's not great... but I'll probably keep watching for a bit.

Arrow... I really liked this one, which is odd since it isn't my typical show. Looks like they'll be a good mix of action to go with the unfolding storyline.

Beauty and the Beast... well, the Beast isn't all that beastly, but the storyline is half decent, and there is the makings of a good romance between the Beauty and the Beast.

Emily Owens, MD... kind of quirky... they really have to develop a good storyline other than "quirky" though for me to keep watching.

Degrassi... I've watched this show in its various iterations since I was a kid, and am always impressed. The best Canadian show on TV by a mile.

I also watch a number of TLC, Discovery and A&E shows that have to do with (in no particular order of importance) the Amish, Mennonites, hoarders, large families, couponers, collectors, duck hunters, cheapskates, tuna fishermen, crab fishermen, being sea gold prospectors, teen moms, people in debt, gypsies and gypsy wedding dress designers.

Please don't judge me. I draw the line at the Real Housewives of (insert city here), little people and child beauty pageant contestants including but not limited to Honey Boo Boo.
