1. You’re packing for a week long vacation, do you pack ahead of time or wait until the last possible minute to pack?
I think about packing months in advance and start putting away the multitude of things I "plan" on bringing.  About a week before I haul out the suitcase, go through all the stuff I've piled away that I had planned on bringing (narrowing down that pile to a manageable level and normally ditching 90% of the stuff I thought I had to bring) and start making a list of clothes I need to wash, etc. The night before I get everything ready, putting the stuff I need to use in the morning on top of my suitcase so I don't forget it.

No... I'm not OCD... why do you ask?

2. Are you a light or heavy packer?
I'm a light packer. It really ticks me off when I pack something I don't use. I went around the British Isles for two weeks with a 1/2 full backpack that I only filled up at the airport duty free on the way home with British chocolate...

3. What are your favorite road trip snacks?
Depends where I'm going and how I'm getting there.  I like Tim Horton's steeped tea, and sometimes if I'm feeling adventurous I'll start a road trip with a McDonald's bacon and egg McMuffin meal (supersized for the giant orange juice and second hash brown).

4. Do you take any reading material along?
Usually. Do I read them?  It's hit or miss.  I'll be bringing my Touchpad on my next trip to use as an eReader so we'll see how that goes.

5. Do you prefer to drive or fly to your vacation destination?
Fly.  Since I've gotten older, I now equate time with money.  So while driving may *seem* cheaper, when it takes me 14 hours to get somewhere it ends up being "cheaper" for me to fly in 2 hours.

6. What is your favorite time of the year to take your vacation?
I like going in the Spring or Fall... it's not too hot or too cold, and the scenery is beautiful.

7. Where is your favorite place to vacation?
I like everywhere I've gone, but my my favorite city so far has been Berlin.  I think I could make an entire vacation out of Germany.

8. You are vacationing in the mountains, what is your favorite thing to do while there?
Look at them from inside my quaint and rustic log cabin while sipping a hot chocolate spiked with Baileys.

9. You are at the beach for your vacation,  do you like to take it easy on the beach or play all day in the water?
I do a combo... not really in the water though - I'll sleep/nap/read for awhile, and then go off exploring.

10. While your on vacation do you prefer to eat out every night or cook some of your own meals?
I like eating dinners out, but eating breakfast and lunch out gets old.  If I'm in a hotel, I usually try and get one with a fridge so I can at least buy milk and cereal for the morning.
