I started writing a post about acceptance and tolerance. I couldn't get the words right.
It boiled down to this:
You can have your beliefs. If you think marriage should be between a man and a woman, go nuts. Believe what you want to believe.
But stop forcing your beliefs on everyone else because you think they're right.
Because they're only right for you.
You see, a belief, by definition is something that one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction.
Notice that the definition that states "that one accepts". It doesn't say that all accept.
So, why keep forcing "your" beliefs down other people's throats (I'm looking at you North Carolina, Mitt Romney and Bristol Palin)?
Believe what you want, and allow others the same courtesy.
Tolerance... it's a good thing.
