Sayonara 2008!

My 2008 in review...

- I have been on 9 first dates, 8 second dates and then... well - the average kinds of dies off from there. But I am getting out there, and hopefully 2009 won't bring me any more diseased, broken or hairy guys.

- This year alone I visited 12 countries (Canada, USA, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Vatican City, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France). I saw everything from Stonehenge, to the Canals of Venice, to the Canals of the Venetian Hotel in Vegas to the Berlin Wall. It was all amazing.

- I have been to countless free concerts. I am loving Calgary for that. I don't even think I could name the majority of the bands... but I will try... Hedley, State of Shock, Spirit of the West, Collective Soul, Faber Drive, Bedouin Soundclash, Finger Eleven, Sloan, illScarlett, Lifehouse, Jully Black, Natasha Bedingfield... I am sure there were more... not to mention the hockey games I have seen... NHL games, WHL games, World U17 Women's World Championships - heck - even the local college team... I love a good hockey game.

- I have "met" lots of great new blogging friends... I {heart} each and every one of your e-mails and comments - and trust me, when I win the lottery I plan on visiting each one of you in all of the cool little pubs you all talk about in your posts and tweets.

In all, it has been a pretty good year. I don't really believe in making New Year's resolutions - I mean... if it is good enough to do you should just start it when you think of it. Why wait until January 1st?

But I do pick a word of the year. I think last year's was determination. This year... I think it will be embrace. Embrace change, embrace new beginnings, embrace a man... well - you get the point.

To everyone out there in blogland... Happy New Year!

Not sure what my word will be ... maybe something like uhmm, hmm, uhhh, well i don't know really right now - I will get back to you on that one. Oh wait, maybe it will have something to do with learning to be content. Good grief my right eye is hurting right now - damn contacts. Ok, so this now turning into a small blog of my own rather than a simple comment. Time for bed [alone (sigh)]...

Happy 2009 Carmie. Miss you. Hope to see you soon. Lovies.
