I am Not a Negative Nelly... Really!

by - Wednesday, November 12, 2008

I have come to the realization that my last few blog posts have been kind of negative. The I'm-feeling-so-sorry-for-myself kind of negative.

And they all I seem to write about is the fact that I can't seem to get a date - or that the guys that are interested in me are freaky.

Really... in the grand scheme of it all I am not a boy-crazy person. Yes - I do eventually want to find someone to settle down with, and I am not willing to make compromises on what I fell I want in a relationship just to be in a relationship.

Seriously - there are other things out there that keep me occupied.

Like the fact that after watching Days of Our Lives (two days in a row) for the first time in ages I am mildly interested in making a family tree of all the characters just to show that they are all actually related to on another and the show is just a big bag of common DNA.

Like after watching Romancing the Stone on TV, I reeled in horror that the movie is 25 years old. 25 years? Holy cow - I vaguely remember that movie coming out - and having it available on both VHS and Beta in the video store.

OK... so I guess there isn't a lot keeping me occupied right now.

Perhaps I should go and make that family tree for something to do.

When I get to feeling like this, I go for a drive with Cake's version of "I Will Survive." Screaming the f-bomb at the top of my lungs always helps.
Also, going online and laughing at the douche bag profiles on dating services always makes my day a little brighter.

  2. It's called "My Life in a Nutshell". Sometimes life is hilarious and funny. Sometimes it's about trying to date and the freaks (which I find to be hilarious, not negative) and sharing it with people. I try to always be funny in my posts, but sometimes my job or other parts of my life fucking suck and I write about it because it makes me feel better. Bottom line...don't worry about the perception...just be you!
