Will and Kate

Tomorrow is the day!  Kate and William will be opening the Calgary Stampede and I plan on getting downtown around 6 in the morning to stake out a good viewing spot.

I just have a question... why is it "okay" to roll ones eye and make snide remarks at me because I want to take part in this one-in-a-lifetime event because they're "just celebrities", but it's okay for "you" to fawn over and pay money to watch "your" favorite artists in concert/movies/etc.

Isn't that a bit of a double standard?

Yes, I realize that the majority of people are going because of the spectacle of the event.  That isn't a bad thing.  Yes, I also realize that the majority of Canadians don't know royal history from a hole in the wall, and that not all of the history is good... but it's there and there isn't much we can do about it now.  We are a Commonwealth nation... if you don't like it that much, move to the States.

Just let me be, while I cozy up on the side of the road waiting for the motorcade to start and I contort my arm in all sorts of odd positions trying to get the best camera angles.

And I'll let you go pay hundreds of dollars to watch "your" celebrities. Okay?

Don't you think you should be there earlier, like camp overnight. Just don't throw your back out while contorting. Love Mo
