Signed, Sealed and Delivered

Remember how last week (or maybe it was the week before, I am too lazy to check) I said I'd caught the travel bug?

Well, today the bug became reality.

I now own a return trip from Calgary to Dublin at the end of September.

The best part... it was only $400... plus 4725 AirMiles (which were on sale - 25% off the regular "price" of 6300... by the way, I still have over 5000 AirMiles left).

Everyone kept telling me that AirMiles suck for actual travel. Buy gift cards they said. Buy stuff. Like a toaster. Or a BBQ. Or a Slap Chop.

But I was sticking to my guns. Sooner or later 10 years (almost to the day) of collecting AirMiles* would come in handy. I mean - it isn't like I paid anything for them... they were free!

And by gosh, it did. In spades.
