It Took until my 32nd Christmas...

by - Tuesday, December 22, 2009

I got home last night after only mild delays at the airport to find my mom's tree up and presents underneath.

Presents under the tree.

Pure crazyness.

You see... for the first 31 years of my life, my mom never put out her presents until after my brother and I went to bed on Christmas Eve. Never.

I'm not really sure why... it was just something she did. Her gifts and Santa's gifts (obviously) just never got put out until I was in bed.

I am not sure about my brother, but I will swear on a stack of autographed Trevor Linden hockey cards that I never snooped. Ever. As I grew up I always knew where the gifts were, but snooping would spoil it all. So I never did.

But, I must say, walking in the door to see gifts under the tree was a big surprise.

I am still in mild shock. I am not sure about this.

But it's not like I'm going to tell her to take them back!

  1. Your Mom sounds just like my Mom she only recently started putting stuff under the tree before Christmas Eve when we all went to bed.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  2. sheesh my mom would stupidly put them all out. then SANTA brought more xmas eve.

this only tempted us for weeks and caused me on more than one occasion to open my gifts and re-seal them.

    ruining a few christmas suprises.
